It’s been a wonderful 10 days for Tottenham Hotspur and for Harry Kane in particular.
The 21-year-old took his spectacular season to new heights at the weekend, scoring a double to earn his side three points against bitter rivals Arsenal in what was his first North London derby.
Kane is now the highest scoring player in the Premier League in all competitions with 22 strikes to his name.
The worrying thing for Tottenham however is that none of the other strikers are helping him in sharing the goalscoring burden.
Emmanuel Adebayor is a shadow of the player who was scoring goals for fun under Tim Sherwood whilst Spanish striker Roberto Soldado just cannot seem to get to grips with English football and is a genuinely a laughing stock according to rival fans.
With that in mind, we have identified five strikers Tottenham should consider for the summer as a partner to their in form Harry Kane.

Paco Alcacer
The last time Tottenham went all out to sign a striker from Valencia, it didn’t pan out quite how everyone had expected.
But Paco Alcacer is a different player to Roberto Soldado in that he is six years younger to start.
The 21-year-old is considered one of the hottest prospects in Spain and has already featured for the successful national side.
Tottenham were linked with a £15 million move prior to the January transfer window and although Alcacer has recently signed a new deal at the Mestalla, Tottenham know Valencia would have to sell for the right price.
Stevan Jovetic
The Montenegrin has slipped down the pecking order at the Etihad Stadium following the arrival of Wilfried Bony, so much so that he has been removed from City’s 21-man Champions League squad.
Manuel Pellegrini has challenged the former Fiorentina forward to prove his fitness over the remaining months of the season to show he still has a future at the Etihad but it would come as a surprise if he remained at the club beyond the summer as he is clearly now fourth choice striker.
A class forward when fit, Jovetic would be looking for an opportunity to prove himself in the Premier League whilst London is often an attractive option for players from overseas.
Jay Rodriguez
The Southampton forward is a man Pochettino knows well from his time spent on the south coast.
Rodriguez was the second highest English goalscorer in the Premier League behind Daniel Sturridge last season, until a horror injury cruelly robbed him of a place in the England squad for the summer’s World Cup.
Pochettino remains a big fan however whilst the fact he is capable of playing wide in a front three is also a bonus.
Tottenham have been linked with a move previously but the summer seems the most likely opportunity to complete the deal as the 25-year-old will have hopefully returned to full fitness.
Saido Berahino
Another English football believed to be on Pochettino’s radar is West Bromwich Albion striker Saido Berahino.
The England Under-21 international striker is out of favour with Tony Pulis having made comments about ‘moving onto bigger things’ at the end of the season.
Berahino was left out of the starting eleven for the Baggies’ trip to Burnley yesterday despite having scored 14 goals in all competitions this term.
Pulis is ready to let him leave in the summer for any bid of more than £15 million according to widespread reports.
Jackson Martinez
The Colombian intrnational striker is actively seeking a move to the Premier League having spent the last two-and-a-half seasons scoring goals for fun in Portugal with Porto.
Tottenham may have to fight off interest from the likes of Liverpool, Chelsea and Arsenal however with the 28-year-old attracting plenty of attention from the Premier League’s top clubs.
The fact they have held a long standing interest may well hold them in good stead however whilst of all those teams it seems Pochettino would be willing to offer the most regular first team football.
Tottenham have been chasing a powerful target man since Pochettino’s arrival with Romelu Lukaku, Wilfried Bony and Christian Benteke all previously linked.
