It’s not been a great season for the Chelsea fans in the Transfer Tavern and whilst success this term is still possible, the Blues fans in the corner are making it quite clear that they expect wholesale changes from their side this summer.
Coming into the season as defending champions, many expected Chelsea to be there again this term but the campaign has been a stark contrast, with the Blues mixing it in mid-table and looking much weaker than the side that ran the show last season.
With the standard declining, many players have suffered as a result and whoever comes into Chelsea this summer has a job to do to get rid of the old guard- and our punters have made it abundantly clear who they want to offload come the summer.
It’s not going to be an easy job but there should be some suitors for these five players, handed to our landlord from the fans, and they want these lot gone by the time next season kicks off.

Loic Remy
The French international has never quite got going at Stamford Bridge, finding opportunities extremely limited, and his fairly-significant wage package essentially means Chelsea are throwing money down the drain every week.
Not able to find the form that made him a star at QPR and Newcastle United, many expected Remy to find himself offloaded during the mid-season window. That wasn’t the case though and Remy’s opportunities have continued to be difficult to come by.
In the summer, with Chelsea likely looking for a new star-striker, Remy will surely be offloaded- and it’s certainly about time.
Papy Djilobodji
The Senegalese defender was a surprise addition to the squad late in the summer transfer window and he didn’t last long. Making no Premier League appearances in the first-half of the season, Djilobodji left on-loan in January to join Werder Bremen.
Given the situation for the 27-year-old, it’s extremely unlikely he will remain with the squad next summer and a permanent sale is likely to occur. Despite plenty of experience in France, the defender failed to make the grade in England.
It certainly goes down as one of the most bizarre transfer scenarios of recent history.
Asmir Begovic
The Bosnian goalkeeper, like Papy Djilobodji, only arrived last summer but has become a frustrated figure at Stamford Bridge. A starter in the first-half of the season, with Thibaut Courtois injured, Begovic’s game time has been limited since.
Though there is speculation regarding Courtois future and whether he may leave this summer, it’s likely that Chelse will fight tooth and nail to keep him. For Begovic, however, that’s likely not the case and if he wants to leave he’ll probably get that chance.
Unfortunately for the fans, this goes down as another transfer failure who lasted a very short time at the club.
John Terry
There’s no doubting that John Terry bleeds Chelsea and he’s still a quality defender. However, he has started to show his age and with Chelsea needing an overall, the veteran’s departure would not necessarily be a bad thing.
He made headlines earlier this year by revealing he had not been offered fresh terms by Chelsea, and was therefore likely to leave in the summer, and the situation hasn’t changed since. For the former England captain, a move abroad is the most likely scenario.
Branislav Ivanovic
Along with Terry, Branislav Ivanovic is one of the final members of the old guard and with the summer overhaul planned, the Serbian defender should also find his way out the door- especially as his performances have declined significantly this term.
Ivanovic has been a great servant to Chelsea and he will be missed but with Baba Rahman excelling at left-back, which allows Cesar Azpilicueta to return to his favoured position on the right-side, Ivanovic’s inclusion is no longer a necessity.
He’s too good to be a squad player, so Chelsea should allow him an exit to see out the twilight years of his career.
