Manchester United fans are happy again this week.
After a run of three consecutive defeats without scoring a goal, Louis van Gaal’s side recorded an important 2-1 victory over Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park to all but secure a top four finish, having just splashed another £30million on one of the most exciting young talents in Europe.
Holland international Memphis Depay will be lining up as a Manchester United winger next term, after Louis van Gaal pipped bitter rivals Liverpool to the signature of the PSV Eindhoven starlet.
And the spending isn’t set to stop there.
United have now spent more than £200million in two years, and there are set to be further signings this summer.

Kevin Strootman
The Dutchman has been on United’s radar for more than two years now, and reports suggest an agreement has already been met with Roma to see Strootman finally complete his move to Old Trafford in the summer.
A player van Gaal knows well from his time in the Dutch national side, Strootman is a classy defensive midfielder, who will compliment Michael Carrick superbly in the middle of the park.
Mats Hummels
The German has endured a tough season with Borussia Dortmund, but that has not stopped United from registering an interest in the World Cup winner.
Changes are expected at Dortmund this summer, with Jurgen Klopp having announced last month he will be leaving the club at the end of the season.
That may well open the door for Hummels to depart, with the centre back having been linked with a move to the Premier League consistently over the past couple of seasons.
Edinson Cavani
United were reportedly interested in the Uruguayan during the summer of 2013, before he completed a £50million move to Paris St Germain.
It looks set to be a disappointing season for Laurent Blanc’s side, who currently sit third in Ligue 1 having exited the Champions League at the quarter final stage.
That may well give Cavani the excuse he needs to force through a move to the Premier League, with the former Napoli man said to be frustrated at so often being deployed out wide by Blanc.
Nathaniel Clyne
Right back has been a problem position for United this season, with natural winger Antonio Valencia having spent the majority of his time there over the course of the campaign.
Southampton’s Nathaniel Clyne has enjoyed an excellent season on the south coast, and United are said to have already made contact over a transfer.
Clyne has been a key part of a side that has spent the season challenging for the top four, whilst also establishing himself in Roy Hodgson’s England set up.
Gareth Bale
Manchester United have proven more than anyone over the past few years that they can match the richest in Europe with their spending power.
They are one of the few clubs capable of affording Gareth Bale, who has struggled during his second campaign as the world’s most expensive player with Real Madrid.
Often criticised by his own supporters, Bale is rumoured to fancy a return to the Premier League in the summer, and United are one of the frontrunners for his signature.
