Theo Walcott is the latest superstar on a glistening list of players to be linked with a summer move to West Ham United, and our Hammers fans here in the Transfer Tavern are loving it!
Ligue 1’s Alexandre Lacazette and Michy Batshuayi, Everton’s Romelu Lukaku and Inter striker Mauro Icardi are just a few of the big names in that glorious catalogue of Europe’s elite, to find themselves linked with a switch to the West London side come the end of the season.
While it unlikely that the Hammers will secure the signatures of all of the above – mostly due to the fact they are all forwards – the West Ham loyals at the Tavern are excited to see their beloved club linked with some of the hottest talents in world football.
Slaven Bilic’s side have had a terrific season ahead of their summer switch to the Olympic Stadium, and play their final ever game at the Boleyn Ground this evening as they host Manchester United in what will be a emotional night for the club.
Under the Croatian, West Ham are still within reach of their best Premier League finish since 1998/99, where the club finished 5th with former boss Harry Redknapp.
A win in their ultimate game at the Boleyn tonight, followed by a final day win at Stoke could see the Iron’s beat United to 5th place and secure Europa League football next season – providing other results go their way.
With a new 60,000 capacity stadium, the promise of European football and an excellent manager at the helm, West Ham will be an attractive option for many this summer, and could see an influx of players to strengthen their already impressive squad.
So just who could make the switch to the Olympic Stadium this coming transfer window?

Christian Benteke
The out-of-sorts Liverpool man is latest in the index of striker’s to be linked with a summer switch to the Hammers.
Struggling for first team football under Jurgen Klopp, ‘Bentekkers’ has undoubted talent and would certainly suit Slaven Bilic’s style of play.
A proposed £25 million bid is on the cards for the former Aston Villa forward.
Sadio Mane
Surely not another striker? Apparently so, as Southampton and Senegal forward Sadio Mane is said to be on the radar of the Hammers following and impressive season at St Mary’s.
Southampton are also competing with the Irons for that coveted 5th place spot, and hence the outcome of this transfer may depend on the end of the season’s standings.
Jamie Vardy
Now we know West Ham may have struggled for goals this season, but this is becoming a joke.
Supposedly it’s not however, with 24 goal Vardy possibly being subject to an ambitious bid following his Premier League triumph and subsequent party at Leicester City.
Aleksander Dragovic
Finally, a defender. The Hammers are definitely in need of reinforcements at the back, and the Austrian centre half fits the bill perfectly.
The Dynamo Kiev ace has even hinted at a move to the Irons and is set to leave the Ukrainian Champions this summer.
Moussa Sissoko
If Newcastle are to be relegated tomorrow night, one man who is almost certain to leave the club this summer will be midfielder Moussa Sissoko.
Undoubted quality is sometimes camouflaged under a lack of work ethic, but the big French central midfielder certainly has plenty to offer.
Powerful, pacy and pertinent going forward, the former Toulouse star may be the bargain of the summer.
