The topic of conversation in The Transfer Tavern this evening is the speculation regarding the future of Swansea manager Garry Monk.
The Swansea board appear to be getting impatient with the sides inconsistantcy so far this season, with rumours suggesting that they could be making a change of manager sooner rather than later.
36 year old Monk has been in charge at The Liberty Stadium since February 2014 following the sacking of former manager Michael Laudrup.
In his first full season Monk led the club to a respectable eighth place finish and recorded the club’s highest ever points total in the top flight.
This season so far however has seen the club pick up just three wins from their opening twelve Premier League games with just 13 points on the table.
So should Swansea City decide to swing the axe we have decided to have a look at five possible replacements for Monk at The Liberty Stadium.

Brendan Rodgers
Brendan Rodgers name will be linked with many jobs now he has been relieved of his duties at Liverpool.
Would he return to Swansea? That all depends on wether he is looking for a return to management quickly or not following his sacking.
Rodgers is still well like by the fans of the Welsh club, and the fact he was the manager who led them to thr promised land of the Premier League in 2011 following a win over his former side Reading.
Swansea played some of their best pass and move football with Rodgers formerly in charge, so don’t be surprised to see Rodgers return should Monk be relieved of his duties at the club.
David Moyes
52 year old Moyes could be the man to turn to as Swansea look for an upturn in fortune in the Premier League.
The Scotsman was sacked by Real Sociedad earlier today after just 10 months in charge of the La Liga side, near enough the same length of time he was given to manage Manchester United.
Many in the game believe that Moyes should have been given more time to be able to make his mark at Old Trafford and that he was sacked to early by the club in favour in of Dutchman Louis Van Gaal.
Moyes had his best spell in management at Everton where he spent 10 years leading the club to a place in the Champions League in 2005, and an FA Cup final appearance in 2009.
Graeme Jones
45 year old Jones could be ready to make the step up to manager having spent the last 8 years assisting Roberto Martinez.
No stranger to anyone at Swansea having assisted former boss Martinez during his time as manager at the club before following him to Wigan Athletic in 2009.
Jones who spent his playing career in the lower leagues of English football would bring a steely determination to the side, but with what he has picked up during his time as assistant to Martinez you would expect flair and pace within the side.
That being said a move to Swansea could prove unlikely as the club will most likely be looking for an experienced boss to replace Monk.
Tim Sherwood
Another recently sacked Premier League manager who will be linked with the Swansea job would be Tim Sherwood.
Sherwood saw his reign as Aston Villa manager come to an end last month with the club struggling in the Premier League’s relegation zone.
Sherwood began his managerial career at Tottenham Hotspur in December 2013 and led them to a sixth place finish at the end of the 2013/14 season. Although European football was achieved Sherwood was relieved of his duties that summer.
He remained out of work until February this year when he replaced Paul Lambert at Aston Villa, but a disastrous start to this season saw Sherwood sacked.
Sean Dyche
Current Burnley boss Sean Dyche is someone who seems to be linked with a managerial post in the Premier League every time one becomes available.
The 44 year old who was a no nonsense central defender during his playing days is known for making his sides hard to beat.
Dyche began his managerial career at Watford in July 2011 taking over from Malkay Mackay who left for Cardiff.
He led Watford to eleventh place in the Championship and was relieved of his duties as manager after one season following a change of ownership at Vicarage Road.
Dyche was named Burnley manager in October 2012 and led them to promotion to the Premier League in 2014, but the club were relegated back to the Championship the following season.
