The Transfer Tavern’s landlord was just looking over the Premier League table and there are surprising teams at both ends of the division.
With Leicester City leading the way after last season’s lucky escape from relegation, it is quite a shocking turn around in fortunes. Newcastle United are another team that is surprisingly in the bottom three at this stage if the season, though last year they survived and in some ways were lucky to do so.
However this season with money being pumped into the squad, they were expected to be safe from relegation battle’s this time around. Under the stewardship of Steve McClaren they have played some good football but have not picked up the desired results.
Which has led to speculation that his tenure at Newcastle is coming to the end with the Toon sitting once again in the bottom three of The Premier League

Brendan Rodgers
The former Liverpool manager lost his way slightly at Anfield and moved away from the fast attacking style of football that almost got Liverpool their first Premier League title.
Rodgers would tick a box for Newcastle fans in the fact that he makes his players play at one hundred percent and does not allow players to meander about the pitch.
Rodgers was somewhat unlucky at Liverpool and with the right backing in the transfer market, he could turn Newcastle into European contenders.
David Moyes
Moyes’ career has stumbled slightly since he took the hot seat at Old Trafford, where he was never going to fill the enormous boots that were left by Sir Alex Ferguson.
He then went to Spain, which was a brief six month experiment that went wrong, and now he is looking for employment beck in the United Kingdom and in particular the Premier League.
Should Newcastle decide to part company with Steve McClaren, then the job he did at Everton should be the bench mark that he is judged upon.
Gary Monk
Former Swansea boss was unlucky to find himself out of employment after being shown the door by the Swans. Yes, Swansea had not picked up the results which left them close to the bottom three but the performances were there.
He is one manager that could turn Newcastle fortunes completing, leading the side to play much better football and players would give everything for Gary Monk, as he install’s that kind of loyalty in his team.
He could work with the current players and get more out of them and a tweak to their current formation could make them much more solid at the back.
Eddie Howe
There is no question that Eddie Howe has done an unbelievable job in turning Bournemouth’s fortunes around and bring them up into the promised land of the Premier League.
Few could argue that he may deserve a chance at a bigger club and Newcastle could do a lot worse than this bright young manger taking the helm at St James Park.
Plays attractive open football and is well know for plucking unknown players and improving them turning them into valuable commodities which will appeal to Mike Ashley.
Jose Mourinho
The former Chelsea boss is allegedly lined up to take over at Old Trafford in the summer from Louis Van Gaal should the Manchester United board should decide to make a change.
However that being said Mourinho wants to prove everybody wrong and he is the best manager that is currently around in football.
Newcastle would be a huge undertaking and would take all of The Special Ones managerial know how to turn them into a real force in The Premier League.
