5 Real Madrid players that Man United should seriously consider signing – Agreed?

Our resident Manchester United fans have endured a particularly uninteresting season thus far, yet their club could still potentially achieve a top four finish if their rivals Manchester City continue to falter.

Whilst the Reds supporters over by the fruit machines have been bemoaning the relatively poor quality of their squad, they could still secure a Champions League spot for next season.

This would, in turn, enable them to once again provide an attractive option to the world’s best players who are looking to make a transfer at the end of the season.

With Real Madrid reportedly said to have drawn up a long list of players who could possibly depart the Bernabeu this summer, United could be set to show an interest in some of Los Blancos’ stars.

Sergio Ramos

Ramos

One area that needs improving within the Manchester United squad is the centre of defence. Whilst Chris Smalling has enjoyed a personally successful season, the likes of Daley Blind and Marcos Rojo have failed to maintain a consistent run of form.

Sergio Ramos would be the perfect signing for the Red Devils, as he would bring experience and leadership to their backline. He is also versatile and can play as a right back if needed.

The 29-year old was the subject of a rejected 32 million bid from United last summer, but the Real Madrid captain has reportedly asked to leave the club following his side’s recent defeat to rivals Atletico.

Marcelo

Another area of the defence that United could bolster with a world class signing is at full back.

Whilst he is not one of the players linked with an imminent departure from the Spanish capital, Brazil international Marcelo would be the perfect signing.

United have mostly had to rely on youngster Cameron Borthwich-Jackson following the long-term absence of Luke Shaw, but the 27-year old Marcelo would be a huge acquisition, bringing pace and good defensive ability.

Toni Kroos

With many of Manchester United’s central midfielders deemed not good enough for the club, with the likes of Michael Carrick ageing and Marouane Fellaini not performing, they will inevitably be looking to bring in a top class midfielder at the end of the season.

German international Toni Kroos would be the perfect addition to the Reds’ midfield, providing an engine in the centre of the park.

The 26-year old is a proven winner and has won a host of trophies with both Bayern Munich and Real Madrid.

Gareth Bale

One player who United have been linked with for some time now is Welsh winger Gareth Bale. Currently holding the world record transfer fee to his name, Bale is still just 26 years old.

His pace, shooting and passing would be a massive upgrade on the likes of Memphis Depay and Ashley Young, who have been relatively inconsistent this term.

Cristiano Ronaldo

Another player who United have been linked with for some time is their former player Cristiano Ronaldo.

The Portugal captain has struggled to be at his best this season and, after years of attempting to re-sign him, the 31-year old could finally make his return to Old Trafford.

He is lethal in front of goal, capable of scoring with either foot and his head, whilst his set pieces and trickery would be welcome amongst the United faithful.
