The Transfer Tavern landlord often hears lots of rumours and transfer talk from lots of different fans through out the day.
Our landlord see’s a band of Everton supporters come through the Tavern doors and he makes his way over to the group to take their orders, when he notices that they don’t look overly happy. When asked why, the answer is simple- they’re scared their star-men will leave.
They are talking about the new stadium that is going to be built and they worry that to fund the stadium players will leave and finances will be even tighter than they currently are. The fear is real, as they’re convinced the exits for their big stars are inevitable.
Here are the five players our resident Everton fans believe they are set to lose this year.

John Stones

First out the door according to the Blue half of Merseyside, is the talented young England defender John Stones. It is no secret that Chelsea want the Center Back, but now Manchester United have been linked with Stones.
There is also talk that one of the Spanish Giants have been tracking the 21 year old Everton star. With the youngster in high demand, refusing another large bid may prove to be to hard for the Toffees to resist.
Romelu Lukaku

Everton have placed a £65million price tag on their prize striker but given his superb form, it wouldn’t be a surprise to see a European giant match that price.
Teams are queuing up for the forward, who is currently the leading Premier League scorer in all competitions with 19 goals. With 15 of those in the league, his class is clear for all to see.
There are plenty of suitors as Manchester United, Juventus and Real Madrid have all expressed an interest in signing Everton’s Star man.
Leighton Baines

Baines has been a terrific player for Everton, since signing from Wigan years ago, breaking into the England squad and recovering from an injury problem. As he gets older though, the temptation to cash-in could grow and any bid will be difficult to reject.
A host of Premier League clubs have been linked with the player including West Ham, Tottenham Hotspur and Stoke City. Seeing the Englishman line-up for a rival club would be heard to swallow for the Toffees, given his years of service at Goodison Park.
Ross Barkley

The most talented England midfielder to be produced for years has many admirers in the Premier League and abroad.
The strongest link though is with Manchester City, who would be favorites to land the attacking midfielder from Everton. His price-tag would be tremendous but finances are no issue for the Citizens, who are seeking a replacement for star-man Yaya Toure.
Kevin Mirallas

Our last player given by the Everton fans was the highly rated Mirallas, as back in November he was an unhappy figure on the bench but since then he has found his way back into Roberto Martinez starting line up.
However, there is still speculation surrounding the player moving on this January, where a number of clubs would be interested in taking the talented 28-year-old Belgian international. Europe may beckon for the winger and a high-price could be secured.
