With the start of the Premier League season a fortnight away, Tottenham fans would have every right to be very excited if their club wasn’t embroiled in a long running transfer saga at present.

The Gareth Bale to Real Madrid story continues to run and run, and has taken away from the fact the club have done some very good business up until now.

Andre Villas-Boas has smashed the club’s transfer record already this summer, as he looks to take the team to the next level and provide qualification for the Champions League.

£26million Spanish forward Roberto Soldado is on the verge of completing a move to White Hart Lane, where he would join £17million Brazilian midfielder Paulinho and £7million winger Nacer Chadli as summer arrivals.

Villas-Boas is keen to add further additions to his squad before the start of the season, but has had most of his time preoccupied the by ongoing Bale saga.
