Whilst many Arsenal fans in the Transfer Tavern want to see fresh young talent come to the Emirates in the summer and some of their older players depart, there are still plenty of more senior players who could offer something to the North London outfit.
With these players being older, they could also be available at a cut price and may potentially turn out to be excellent value for money.
The Gunners contingent over by the bar will know all about that, having seen their club sign Petr Cech from rivals Chelsea last season.
Cech has proven his worth at the Emirates Stadium, with his experience often aiding the Arsenal defence – and it wouldn’t be a surprise to see the north London outfit try and sign more ‘veteran’ players in the summer.

Zlatan Ibrahimovic
The future of Zlatan Ibrahimovic is likely to dominate newspaper headlines between now and the end of the season, as his current contract is set to expire and clubs across the globe will be competing for his signature.
The Swedish striker is one of the world’s best, having scored 32 goals and assisting 13 goals in Ligue 1 this season, whilst he has also scored 5 and assisted 3 in the Champions League.
Despite being 34 years old, Ibrahimovic would be a quality addition to the Arsenal squad and would guarantee goals.
Dani Alves
Another world class name who would benefit the Gunners is Barcelona star Dani Alves.
The right-back is one of several defenders who has been linked with a summer exit, as the Nou Camp outfit look to rebuild their backline.
Whilst former Barcelona right-back Hector Bellerin is expected to remain as the first choice in that position, 32-year-old Alves would provide quality cover and experience, as well as bolster the depth of the Arsenal squad.
Michael Carrick
One player who has had strong links with a switch to the Emirates is Manchester United midfielder Michael Carrick.
The former England international’s contract expires at the end of the season, with the Red Devils unlikely to renew it.
The 34-year-old could be a useful acquisition, providing additional experience and cover in the centre of the park. However, he is also versatile and can play at centre back if needed.
John Terry
Perhaps a more controversial target would be John Terry.
The former England captain and current captain of Arsenal’s rivals Chelsea, 35-year-old Terry is still regarded by many as being one of the top defenders in the Premier League.
His leadership and experience could be a valuable asset at the back, as well as his aerial threat from set pieces, and he is available for free this summer.
Yoann Gourcuff
One of the more obscure names who will be available on a free transfer this summer, Yoann Gourcuff turns 30 in July.
The French playmaker was actually linked with a move to Arsenal last summer when he was also a free agent, though he ultimately moved to Rennes instead on a one-year deal.
However, now available again at the end of the current campaign as a free agent, he could potentially be a contender for a surprise switch. He would certainly bring creativity and a different option to the Arsenal midfield.
