The Premier League is always full of surprises every weekend with the games that take place. But, the league seems to throw up even more surprises during the transfer windows. We’ve already seen Sanchez make a switch from Arsenal to Manchester United, and we’ve also seen Coutinho move from Liverpool to Barcelona in the second biggest transfer fee in the world.
Who’s on the move this summer in what could be some of the most shocking transfers?

Sergio Aguero – Manchester City
For whatever reason he has, it seems like Pep Guardiola doesn’t like Sergio Aguero. We’ve already seen how Aguero was benched multiple times at the start of the season because Gabriel Jesus was his preferred striker. Yet, Sergio has proved he’s one of the top goal scorers in Europe after hitting four goals against Leicester in the second half of the game at the weekend. Currently, the odds of Sergio scoring 26 or more premier league goals this season are 2/5 on BetVictor and the chances of that are looking more and more likely with each passing game. Sergio could be one of the shocking moves in the summer of 2018, but where will he be heading? Real Madrid have already confirmed they’re interested in the striker should he become available – and there have even been reports that suggest Manchester United could make a shocking move for the Premier League great.

Harry Kane – Tottenham
If Tottenham aren’t competitive in the summer transfer market, they could well lose Harry Kane. Harry wants to win trophies and, with the current crop of players Mauricio has at his disposal, that isn’t going to be happening anytime soon. Kane is getting on now and hasn’t won a Premier League winners medal as of yet, so he’ll definitely have that at the top of his agenda over the next few years. Teams like Manchester United have already been linked with him in England, and Real Madrid and Barcelona have reportedly shown an interest in signing him. The latest team to show an interest in Kane is Juventus, and they’re reportedly willing to pay a whopping 250 million euros for his services. Will Kane be a Tottenham player next year or will he be playing up North with the Red Devils or in Italy?

Marcus Rashford – Manchester United
Marcus has been class since coming through the ranks at Old Trafford. He’s probably one of the most exciting prospects United have at their disposal. However, with the recent signing of Alexis Sanchez, he’s another forward that’s going to struggle for game time, and we’ve already seen that happen on a couple of occasions since his arrival. Sanchez has a lot more experience and knowledge of the Premier League than Rashford, and it’s looking ever more likely Rashford is going to play as a bench warmer rather than a standout forward. Manchester United will do everything in their power to keep Rashford, simply because he is a player that has a lot of potential to become world class in the future. However, he’s already been linked with a move to Barcelona in recent weeks, and that is a move that could be too hard to turn down for a 19-year-old.

Roberto Firmino – Liverpool
Roberto has been one of Liverpool’s prized assets over the last couple of seasons, but that could be coming to an end if they’re not careful. He is contracted to the club until 2020, but that doesn’t stop clubs signing players in today’s market. He’s an attacking midfielder with plenty of Brazilian flare and, seeing as Liverpool lost his Brazilian teammate in Coutinho in the winter transfer window, he might be looking elsewhere. Liverpool are very competitive this season and they do very much look like the team to beat. However, when this season comes to a close, it’ll likely be another season without silverware, and that could be one of the factors that keeps Firmino. Plenty of clubs would be more than happy to pay his wages and bonuses, so Liverpool might consider offering him a new contract extension or they could lose him to another top European club.

Eden Hazard – Chelsea
Eden has a mixed season this campaign. He’s come up with the goods on some occasions but hasn’t been anywhere near as consistent as he was when Chelsea won the title last year. Chelsea are struggling for form at the moment and if they don’t finish in the top four and secure Champions League football next year, Hazard will almost certainly be on the lookout for a new club. He wouldn’t need to look that far either, as reports suggest Manchester City are very willing to break the bank for his services and Real Madrid have been long-term admirers of the Belgium international. He’s still committed to Chelsea and he’s likely not made a decision on his future just yet. However, if Conte doesn’t take Chelsea forward this year he’s looking like one of the most likely players to head for the door.

Ander Herrera – Manchester United
Ander has been quality for Manchester United since his arrival from Atletico Bilbao. However, United now have Pogba and Matic and that’s put him out of favour at Old Trafford. Ander would prefer to stay at Old Trafford, as he’s shown by kissing the Red Devils badge on his shirt every time he wears it. But, his personal targets and playing first-team football regularly is probably what matters most. Mourinho is a fan of Ander’s as well, but he’s never been afraid of letting players leave if they don’t feel like they are a part of the plan to take the club forward. He’s been linked with a move to Barcelona and Atletico Madrid in recent months. He would prefer to play football in his native Spain if he was to leave Manchester United, so both options would suit him perfectly.

Riyad Mahrez – Leicester
Riyad Mahrez missed out on his dream move to Manchester City just a couple of weeks ago, so he looks almost certain to be moving away from the club that he won the Premier League with just a couple of short seasons ago. He has already gone AWOL and hasn’t bothered turning up for training for 10 days, which shows he’s got his heart on a move up north with 2017/2018 Premier League winners, Manchester City. Will Leicester eventually give in to his demands and help make Manchester City stronger? Or will someone else like Barcelona come in and make a surprise bid to steal him from under Manchester City’s noses? Whichever route he decides to go, he’ll be an asset to any club thanks to his attacking and excellent dribbling play.
The above players are all quality players in their own right and they’ve all done magnificent things for the clubs they currently play for. However, good things eventually come to an end and they’ll all want to make the best choice for their careers and families. The 2018 summer transfer window looks to be an exciting one and the above players look all but set to pull on another shirt for another club in the 2018/2019 season. Will the above players be a success with their new suitors or will they be flops like a lot of other players who change/leagues and clubs and later regret it? We will soon find out!
