A few days to go: Liverpool should consider a last minute move for these 2 players

If Liverpool are certain they want to challenge for the Premier League crown then, as the Transfer Tavern’s fans have pointed out, Jurgen Klopp needs to get his act together and tighten up his defence.

The Reds shipped three goals in their opening fixture against Watford and it proves just how frail they are at crosses or set pieces when the opposition is attacking, a major threat the manager will need to sort.

Fans by the bar were also discussing that this is nothing new for the team who’ve struggled to keep goals out of their own net for a while, ever since Brendan Rodgers was in charge and nearly won the top-flight title.

Focusing on the window, it has been a frustrating summer for Klopp who has seen the club fail in their attempts to acquire want-away Southampton man Virgil van Dijk and RB Leipzig prospect Naby Keita.

They urgently need to bring in faces before the window slams shut, and here are TWO players Liverpool must consider making a move for in the final few days of this transfer market….

Ryan Shawcross

Whilst he perhaps isn’t the big name signing that Liverpool supporters in the Tavern demand, Ryan Shawcross knows his way around the Premier League and that is precisely what the Reds need this season.

The 29-year-old has made just short of 400 top-flight appearances for Stoke City and it is that experience which will help the defence at Anfield settle and make it a lot more of a stern test for the opposition.

However, there isn’t much time left to go until the window closes so it’s certainly wise for Liverpool to consider making a move in the dying embers of the summer transfer market.

Lucas Vazquez

Since being promoted to the Real Madrid first-team in 2015, Lucas Vazquez has been a prominent figure in the Spanish giants’ squad, with sixty senior games under his belt and his attacking threat would be the finishing touch to this Liverpool attack.

The situation regarding Philippe Coutinho is far from ideal but Jurgen Klopp will be forced to find a replacement and this man is the best-suited player to arrive on Merseyside before deadline day.

Vazquez would potentially be backup, however, the Tavern’s landlord thinks the international winger could very well improve Klopp’s ranks.

Liverpool supporters, does Jurgen Klopp need to desperately act within the last few days? Would you welcome these two names to the club? Who else should the Reds make a late swoop for? Let us get your thoughts in the comment section below!
