The Arsenal supporters in the Transfer Tavern were disappointed to drop points against Mauricio Pellegrino’s Southampton side last weekend…
Despite enjoying the lions share of possession at the St Mary’s stadium on Sunday afternoon, Arsenal were a tad fortunate to come away with a point from their clash with Southampton. Charlie Austin fired the Saints into an early lead with barely 3 minutes on the clock after the in-form striker delightfully dinked the ball over the onrushing Peter Cech as he bore down on goal. As one might expect, Arsenal then dominated the ball for the remainder of the match, but Southampton still created some glorious opportunities to double their lead.
But Olivier Giroud came off the bench to salvage a point for The Gunners with a deftly flicked header in the 88th minute, following a sumptuous cross from Alexis Sanchez.
The Frenchman delighted the travelling Arsenal contingent behind the goal with his late strike, despite the fact they would have been hoping for a comfortable 3 points rather than a late equaliser when they arrived on the South Coast.
In the aftermath of proceedings, Arsene Wenger added some further disappointment to Arsenal’s afternoon, as he confirmed that Welsh midfielder Aaron Ramsey had suffered a hamstring injury during the match.
And the Arsenal fans on Twitter were firmly divided in their reaction to Wenger’s admission.
A handful of The Gunners were pleased to see Ramsey ruled out so that Jack Wilshere can get an opportunity to impress more regularly in the first-team, but that opinion was certainly not shared by everyone…
Here’s what the Arsenal supporters had to say in response to Ramsey’s injury.
I can't stand that there are still people who rejoice in Aaron Ramsey getting injured. He's a Gooner through and through and has given his all for this club, to great effect, both on an individual level and a club level. Wise up.

He’s a silent midfielder that works his socks off every game

The only positive thing about this arsenal draw is the fact that Aaron Ramsey looked injured at the end. Now time to give the better footballer in wilshere a chance. @Arsenal

The saddest part is @aaronramsey had begun to show senses recently

Imagine wishing your team's player to be injured. That too the player who has been one of our best players this season. Pathetic
