While their Premier League form has left a lot to be desired of late, the Tottenham Hotspur fans here in the Transfer Tavern love Champions Leauge football. Indeed, with Spurs topping a group also containing the likes of Borussia Dortmund and Real Madrid, life is good on the continental front.
Last night’s thumping 3-0 win over APOEL at Wembley rounded off a wonderful campaign in the Champions League, a run of games that saw Spurs drop only two points, and that was during a draw away at Real Madrid. As you can imagine, the punters propping up our bar were toasting Mauricio Pochettino’s success, though one sour element did arise.
Danny Rose appeared to react angrily to his substitution in the 70th minute last night amid suggestions Manchester United are keen on landing him in January. The England international is thought to have also fallen out with his Argentine coach after being left out of the recent North London derby, though it does appear he retains some support amongst the Lillywhites faithful.

Indeed, the Daily Mirror posted a tweet linking to one of their articles claiming some Tottenham fans wanted the defender sold, though that was quickly refuted by Spurs fans online who replied to the tweet.
