The West Ham fans have been disappointed in the Transfer Tavern of late after they watched their side suffer a 3-1 defeat against their fellow relegation-rivals Brighton & Hove Albion on Saturday.
Since David Moyes’ appointment at West Ham, the club have seen a definite improvement in both their form and results, but the fact they have failed to collect a single win from their last three matches has provoked plenty of concern amongst the supporters. However, the concern for The Hammers faithful does not only concern their failure to record victory against three of their relegation rivals of late.
The other major concern for the supporters relates to their most creative attacking talents Marko Arnautovic and Manuel Lanzini who are both currently sidelined through hamstring injuries.
Despite this, Moyes only managed to bolster his first-team options with the signing of Joao Mario on a short team loan deal from Inter Milan in January.
The window has now closed, so Moyes will be unable to add further talent to his squad unless he can find a quality free agent to add to his ranks.
And according to Sky Sports, Moyes might be able to do just that as West Ham are reportedly close to signing former Manchester United employee Patrice Evra on a free transfer.
The recent reports have sparked a huge reaction from The Hammers faithful on Twitter who are rather perplexed by their club’s interest in Evra who is 36-years-old and plays in a position which the club have plenty of cover in.
Plenty of the supporters have instead urged their club to turn their attention towards Alex Song and Samir Nasri, who are also free agents after leaving Rubin Kazan and Antalyaspor respectively last month.
Here’s what the supporters had to say about the potential of signing Patrice Evra and other free agents in the near future…
