As you can well imagine, the Arsenal supporters propping up the bar were simply gutted to read reports linking star forward Alexis Sanchez with a move to bitter rivals Chelsea.
The Chilean is undoubtedly the Gunners’ star forward and is surely vital to any realistic aspirations they harbour in securing a first Premier League title in well over a decade.
While the Blues are the latest destination touted for the former Barcelona ace, former Stamford chief Jose Mourinho cannot allow that to happen.
Now in charge of Manchester United of course, the self-proclaimed ‘Special One’ simply must make sure Sanchez moves to Old Trafford should he leave north London.
Perhaps it sounds a little far-fetched, though let’s not forget Arsene Wenger is the man who allowed Robin van Persie to join the Red Devils in 2012.
So, with all this in mind, here are TWO reasons Mourinho must ensure Sanchez joins United.
Unpredictable

United at their worse this season have been entirely predictable, with the frontline in particular looking one-paced.
Simply put, there is no one better to remedy that than Alexis Sanchez.
Able to pop up in all sorts of positions, the Chilean would thrive in the company of Marcus Rashford, Anthony Martial and Paul Pogba when pushing forward.
Would provide the Red Devils with so many more dimensions.
Statement of intent

Aside from Paul Pogba (for which they overpaid), United haven’t made a statement signing to truly rock the Premier League since RVP moved to the Theatre of Dreams.
Should they be able to poach Sanchez away from the Gunners in a similar sort of manner, it would really be a message to the rest of English football.
