Alisson Becker’s display at Selhurst park has left Liverpool fans salivating

Liverpool have finally got a goalkeeper worthy of wearing the Liver bird on his chest in Alisson Becker. Over the last few years, they’ve suffered from both Loris Karius and Simon Mignolet’s catalogue of errors and they’ll be delighted to have Alisso between the sticks going into the big games this season.

Alisson will definitely have games for Liverpool where he has more to do this season but that’s not to say he wasn’t kept involved last night. The Brazilian batted away a free-kick from Luka Milivojevic and was constantly being used to spread play with his fantastic passing range. His ability to be a top-class shot-stopper as well as having ability with his feet makes him a real prospect for the Reds.

Jurgen Klopp has oulled off a masterstroke in signing Alisson and he’s one that you comfortably put into the same category as the likes of Ederson, Hugo Lloris and David De Gea as one of the best goalkeepers in the Premier League. It always helps when you’ve got the likes of Virgil van Dijk playing in front of you but Alisson is dominant and commanding in own way and will win the Reds a solid few points this season as they aim for the title.

Van Dijk was absolutely majestic tonight. He was up for the fight, won everything, he was ice cool & his distribution was exemplary. His leadership skills are there for all to see.
Alisson was excellent too. His distribution is brilliant and he bossed his box.
