The new season is just starting to get underway and so far Liverpool and Manchester City have lived up to the pre-season expectations and have looked like the teams to beat. Liverpool have a couple of new boys to thank for that, with one of those being their new goalkeeper Alisson Becker.
Alisson’s pass map against Palace is ridiculous. Liverpool may have found themselves a quarterback.

Alisson is just one of four new signings and he was much-needed and has made a big difference to the club already in is two first Premier league appearances. Against West Ham, he had little to do but then on Monday against Crystal Palace he saw much more of the ball and had the licence to show his passing range as well as making a few good saves here and there.
The Brazilian has started life on Merseyside well and having two clean sheets from two games is always going to be positive. However, the Reds are yet to have a real test. Chelsea, Arsenal and Manchester City have all faced games against one another and until Klopp’s men have to face one of the top six it will be hard to tell whether they really do have the title credentials that they’re being touted with.
You can read the Kopites’ verdict on Alisson here:
Alisson is a Ray Clemence / Xabi Alonso hybrid #LFC #YNWA

Th supporters will be eager to see more of Alisson and will be hoping he can do for them what Ederson did for Manchester City last season with his ability to get them out of trouble with passing range.
