The Atletico Madrid striker Diego Forlan has categorically denied at a Press Conference that he has plans to make a transfer away from Madrid either this window or in even in the next one.
The player was one of the few in the last World Cup to actually, ‘have a good one’ and Tottenham manager Harry Redknapp, either joking or not said live on air – when on a TV panel covering the tournament – of Forlan, ‘He wants to play for Spurs’.

But this appears not to be the case now. Forlan confirmed that Real Madrid had been interested in his signing, but… “About my future, and I have to say that I have renewed my contract.”
“What is true is that Gil Marín spoke with my agent and said he rejected the offer and nothing else the rest is speculation, “
“We must be united and not get carried away by reports that are often false,”he added.
Asked if this could be his last months at Atletico, the Uruguayan did not hesitate to answer. “I have a contract, I’m fine and I’ve been here three and half years in Madrid. I’d love to fulfill my contract.”
This is another nail in the coffin of Tottenham solving a striker problem that has them in the unenviable position of having right back Alan Hutton as one of their leading goalscorers.
