The Spurs fans in the Transfer Tavern have been turning their noses up at this latest transfer rumour from French outlet, RMC, via Get French Football. Apparently, the Lilywhites are looking to sign Alassane Plea from OGC Nice and have put in a formal bid of £23 million.

Whilst Spurs are looking at improvements for their squad this summer, the fans aren’t so sure about going in for a transfer from Ligue 1. The last two players that the club signed from France were Clinton N’Jie and Georges-Kevin N’Koudou and the fans don’t want a repeat of those moves as both of the forwards failed to make an impact in North London, with N’Jie now back in France with Marseille whilst N’Koudou is the forgotten man in N17.
It is no secret that Mauricio Pochettino wants to sign a new striker. The club has tried and failed twice to find an adequate backup to Harry Kane with Vincent Janssen and Fernando Llorente both flopping massively. Now though, they could be looking at a different mould in Plea. The Frenchman scored 16 goals in 35 Ligue 1 appearances last season and has made a name for himself as one of the league’s best finishers. The tempt of Champions League football could prove too much to turn down for the striker too and Spurs could easily get their man.

if he doesn’t improve the starting 11 what is the point? that looks like a west ham signing

Another Nkoudou or N’Jie…

As you can see, the Tottenham fans in the Tavern would rather their club splashed out on a more recognised forward as opposed to Alassane Plea.
