Despite being able to scrape past a resurgent Hull City over the course of the weekend, the Arsenal fans propping up the bar in the Transfer Tavern are still discussing the idea of seeing Arsene Wenger depart the club at the end of the season.
Amid yet another failed title tilt, the Gunners are finally losing patience with Le Prof, who sees his current deal at the Emirates expire in the summer. The Frenchman thoroughly divides opinion amongst our north London locals, though reports linking the Emirates titans with Rafa Benitez have caused concern.
The Spaniard, as trophy-laden as he is indeed, is currently in charge of Championship leaders Newcastle United and is probably not the most exciting potential replacement for Wenger. Considering his past with rivals Liverpool and Chelsea, it’s not as if the 56-year-old is the darling of north London as things currently stand.
In fact, the idea of seeing him arrive at the Emirates hasn’t really gone overly well. With that in mind, here’s how Arsenal fans reacted to the Benitez links.
