Manchester United and Arsenal fans in the Football Transfer Tavern are excited after they were given encouraging news, with talkSPORT revealing that Ilkay Gundogan is hesitant over signing a new deal at Borussia Dortmund as interest hots up.
The German international’s contract expires in 2016 and Dortmund boss Jurgen Klopp was hoping that if he could get him to sign a new deal it would give the club a huge lift.
But the 24-year-old is aware of the interest from the two Premier League giants and this has supposedly led to his contract talks being stalled in Germany.
Because if he refuses to sign a new deal, then Dortmund would feel pressured into selling him in the summer, because instead, they would risk losing him on a free.
And if worst came to worst and either Premier League side opted to not make an offer, he could then turn back approach Dortmund for a new contract.
And this is a huge possibility because it is believed Dortmund will only accept offers in the region of £16 million, and since recovering from injury he has not been able to regain his form.
