Sky Sports have managed to put massive frowns on the faces of Liverpool fans here in the Football Transfer Tavern as they claim that Real Madrid are monitoring Raheem Sterling.
The contract rebel is being increasingly difficult and as one of our punters notes, hearing that one of the biggest clubs in the world are keen on him will probably not do very much to convince Sterling to pen that new deal he has been offered- but our landlord offers a word of caution and brings up Gareth Bale.
Bale has been excellent at times for Real Madrid – yet has still found himself the subject of fan frustration and we think the same thing would happen to Sterling – you can’t be tired at Real Madrid and expect to have your car be in one piece after your nap.
Sterling is also a target for Arsene Wenger’s Arsenal this summer, however their hopes of landing him may be quashed from Real Madrid.
Despite this, Zidane claimed: We know who Raheem Sterling is, and of course we are monitoring him as a player.’
