The Arsenal fans in the Transfer Tavern have been reacting to a story coming out of Sky Sports today, that claims Hector Bellerin has no intentions of leaving the club and has requested the number two shirt for next season. The defender has been constantly linked with moves away from the club and has been a mainstay in the first team this season, making 42 appearances in all competitions.

Hector Bellerin has been wearing Arsenal’s number two jersey since he broke into the first team in the 2014/15 season. Still only 23-years-old, the Spaniard is in his fourth season as part of Arsenal’s senior squad and despite interest from both Juventus and Manchester United, the right-back is happy at The Emirates. This has been made clear by the defender’s desire to become the fourth player to wear Arsenal’s number two shirt in the Premier League after Lee Dixon, Abou Diaby and Mathieu Debuchy.
With Arsene Wenger stepping down from the club in the summer, the fans are struggling to predict who’ll stay and who’ll leave the club in the summer, with all those associated with the club expecting to see a number of ‘deadwood’ players shipped out. If intention is anything to go by, Bellerin won’t be one of those as he’ll be looking to kick-on under a new manager and stamp his name into Arsenal history, continuing the rise he’s had that’s seen him become Arsenal’s first-choice right-back and joint most used player this season alongside Granit Xhaka.
