Arsenal: Fans criticise David Luiz’s first-half display

Share

David Luiz’s name was on the lips of the Arsenal fans once again on Saturday, and for all the wrong reasons.

The 33-year-old veteran lined up alongside fellow centre-back Rob Holding at the heart of the Gunners’ defence, as their side controlled large parts of the first half against old rivals Manchester United at the Emirates on Saturday night.

David Luiz found himself troubled by the visitors’ pace though in the likes of Marcus Rashford and Bruno Fernandes, who were putting a lot of pressure on the Premier League veteran all game. He even had a shot in the first-half that was blazed miles wide of David De Gea’s net.

The former Brazil international has been scrutinised by the supporters already this season and looks to be becoming an unpopular figure with segments of the fanbase.

Because of this, Arsenal fans were quick to criticise once more on Twitter, with some saying that he is way past his best and not up to the task anymore.
