Arsenal: Fans display excitement with Mikel Arteta appointment amid potential departures

Arsenal fans have been displaying their excitement after Mikel Arteta was revealed as the club’s new head coach.

The club have confirmed that the Spaniard is taking over from the recently sacked Unai Emery, who was let go by the club after the 2-1 defeat at home to Eintracht Frankfurt back in November (via BBC).

But, Arteta has something of a crisis on his hands just hours after walking into the head coach role.

To qualify for next season’s Champions League, the club will need to claw back a seven-point deficit on fourth-placed Chelsea.

If he feels that’s too much and he’d rather favour the Europa League, then he has to face the likes of Ajax and Inter after the two clubs dropped down from the Champions League (via UEFA).

However, his biggest challenge as the new boss will seemingly be to convince players, including star forwards Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Alexandre Lacazette, to remain at the club (via The Independent).
