Arsenal were buoyed by the news that duo Granit Xhaka and Mesut Ozil are back in training (per Sky Sports), however, fans believe neither should start the game against Liverpool.
The duo missed the game against Burnley, with Xhaka suffering bruising to his back and legs, while, Ozil was out with a minor illness.
Both stars have been called out by pundits during their Arsenal career, with Graeme Souness saying Xhaka defended at an under-12 level during the club’s 2-1 defeat to Manchester United in April 2018.
Meanwhile, Ozil was also criticised by Souness for his lack of leadership qualities after the side’s 2-2 draw away to Crystal Palace.
The Gunners have a poor record away to Liverpool in recent seasons, conceding 15 goals in the last four games.
Unai Emery’s side come off the back of a positive start to their Premier League season, winning their opening two games for the first time in 10 years.
Arsenal fans aren’t too keen to see the two midfielders start the game on Saturday, and took to Twitter to tweet their thoughts.
Here is a selection of tweets from the North London faithful:

Good, they go directly to the bench

Xhaka and ozil should not start.
I would like torreira, gueonduzi, cebbalos in midfield. They have much more fight and intensity. I would give ozil a start in our next home match tho.— Nazir Imam (@NazirImam4) August 22, 2019
I’m a bit disappointed I know this will annoy a lot of people but I wouldn’t want either of them to start against Liverpool

They’d make Henderson look like Andres Iniesta.

The confidence is ridiculous. Borderline arrogance now and I love it.
