Arsenal fans were feeling ecstatic after reports concerning a possible overhaul of the first-team squad emerged.
According to a report by Mark Irwin, head coach Mikel Arteta could be looking to get rid of the likes of Mesut Ozil, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Alexandre Lacazette in the summer transfer window. The journalist also claims that the Spaniard has been left ‘unimpressed’ by his side’s lack of progress since he was appointed by the club.
Six senior players, including Ozil and Aubameyang, are out of contract in less than 18 months time with Raul Sanllehi having made it clear they will not be allowed to leave on a free transfer. The Gunners have won just one of their last five games across all competitions, however, remain unbeaten in each of their last seven games across all competitions under the former Manchester City assistant coach (via WhoScored).
