Arsenal: Fans in hysterics after Granit Xhaka linked with move to Newcastle United

Arsenal fans are in hysterics after Granit Xhaka was being linked with a move away from the Emirates Stadium in January.

According to the Times, Newcastle United are interested in making a move for the Switzerland international, with the Gunners believing the midfielder will ask to leave the club.

Xhaka was stripped of the Arsenal captaincy after getting into a confrontation with some of the Emirates Stadium faithful when he was substituted in the 2-2 draw against Crystal Palace (via BBC).

His lack of game time since is also thought to be a problem, especially with the European Championships being held next summer. The 27-year-old is thought to be mindful of losing his place with Switzerland, hence why he may ask for a move away.

Fans are in fits of laughter after it was revealed that the Magpies were interested in making a move for Xhaka as they took to Twitter to react.
