The Arsenal fans have been feeling dejected in the Transfer Tavern since their side suffered defeat against Manchester City in the final of the Carabao Cup on Sunday afternoon.
Arsene Wenger had an opportunity to finally clinch his first League Cup trophy in his 22 year Arsenal career at Wembley last weekend, but he failed to take what could potentially be his last opportunity to win a major trophy at Wembley as his side lost 3-0 to a vastly superior City side. The vast majority of the Arsenal fans had no complaints regarding the result, despite Wenger’s criticism of the linesman for failing to flag Leroy Sane for offside on City’s second goal.
However, the opinion of the supporters was not shared by one of Arsenal’s standout performers on the day, namely Jack Wilshere (valued at £16.2 million by Transfermarkt). In the aftermath of proceedings, Wilshere delivered a statement on social media which outlined his opinion regarding a handful of decisions made by the referee.

Wilshere’s statement has generated plenty of interest from supporters of a variety of clubs who are all eager to deliver their verdict on the decision making of the officials.
The Arsenal supporters have reacted with a mixture of shock and embarrassment to Wilshere’s statement, as they believe his complaint is simply a desperate excuse which is being used as a smokescreen to mask the underlying failures of the team on Sunday.
Although a minority of Arsenal’s fanbase can sympathise with Wilshere’s opinion, the majority have been quick to criticise their 26-year-old midfielder for his public statement.
Here’s what the supporters have had to say in response to Wilshere’s social media outburst…

We simply cannot rely on decisions from a referee, We as a team have no shape and thats down to some of your teammates unawareness, the first goal was a goal so was the second. Jack Sign a new deal please but you need to play along side players that fight for the badge

Come on Jack. This a really really poor. Players need to hold their hands up when they haven’t put the effort in. You get out what you put in.

Jack delete this, we lost because we weren’t good enough all over the pitch and everywhere else. Not offside and Musti as weak as a child.
