Last night, fans of all of the Premier League’s top clubs came together to support England and after the Three Lions bowed out of the World Cup, a number of Arsenal fans were in agreement that Kieran Tripper was England’s player of the tournament.

It will have been hard for some Arsenal fans to truly get behind this England side. Five Spurs boys were in the squad and they all featured regularly, with top-scorer Harry Kane the star and Kieran Trippier one of the best players at the entire tournament. However, after finally being beaten in the last four, the Gunners can go back to resenting their North London rivals and backing their own stars.
The fans have all enjoyed watching their country this summer, despite the fact that their only player in the squad was Danny Welbeck who only managed 11 short minutes of action as a substitute in England’s dead-rubber group game against Belgium. Unfortunately, the 27-year-old didn’t have the impact as Trippier, who a lot of Arsenal fans couldn’t help but marvel at for his brilliance throughout the semi-final and the whole tournament.
You can see what the Arsenal fans on Twitter thought of Trippier here:
Trippier, consistently good in every game.

It must hurt the Arsenal fans to be throwing praise at a Spurs player, but none of them can argue that the Bury Beckham has been superb.
