It says a lot about the faith that Arsenal fans have in young Reiss Nelson and Alex Iwobi that they’re turning their noses up at Nicolas Pepe. The 23-year-old Ivorian has scored eight goals and registered seven assists in 12 Ligue 1 games this season and a Telefoot exclusive has linked him with a 50 million euro move to The Emirates, although they’ll face competition from the Bundesliga.
BREAKING: As per a Telefoot exclusive, Arsenal are interested in signing Lille's in form winger Nicolas Pépé and are willing to put the €50m needed to secure his services. Several other top European clubs are interested in the Ivorian international's signature. #afc pic.twitter.com/e8ZBoqv07U

The 23-year-old has been sensational this season and there’s no denying that, but the Gunners are desperate to see one of either Borussia Dortmund or Bayern Munich pip them to the signing of Pepe, as they simply don;t want to see the Ivorian get in the way of either Reiss Nelson or Alex Iwobi as the pair look to make names for themselves as top players whilst plying their trade in North London.
Nelson is currently on-loan at Hoffenheim and is thriving in Germany whilst playing first-team football, meanwhile, Iwobi is tearing up the Premier League alongside the likes of Mesut Ozil, Alexandre Lacazette and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang. At the moment, Pepe can easily make a claim to say that he’s better than both of the Arsenal stars, but that hasn’t swayed The Gunners’ opinions and they’re adamant that they don’t need the Lille man.

Why sign him when Nelson is doing great on loan.

The Gunners would rather not sign Pepe and believe that the 50 million could be spent much more wisely than on the 23-year-old.
