Arsenal fans have been left red faced as a stat has emerged about one of their more flashy players, Alex Iwobi. The Nigerian always has a touch of flair when he takes to the pitch, and that has shown as he leads the way, alongside West Ham’s Felipe Anderson, for nutmegs in the Premier League, although the Gunners aren’t bragging about it.

This is one stat that the Gunners will be desperate to see forgotten quickly, as a club the size of Arsenal don’t want to brag about something like nutmegs as they sit 5th in the Premier League, outside of the top four and not looking like they’ll be able to climb into the Champions League spots between now and the end of the season.
Whilst Iwobi himself will probably get a chuckle out of the unusual statistic, it’s something that rival fans will be ripping into Arsenal for if their fan base starts to laud it. The Gunners have been describing the stat as ‘spursy’ and ‘an embarrassment’ and it’s easy to see why. Arsenal fans should stick to getting behind the team and trying to help them score goals and win games, not slip the ball through their opponent’s legs.

The Gunners won’t want to see this kind of stat again and will be keen for their side to focus on winning games and scoring goals as opposed to nutmegging opponents.
