As the news has come out in The Daily Star that Danny Welbeck has piqued Roy Hodgson’s interest at Crystal Palace, it’s got a lot of Arsenal fans thinking. One Gunners fan page has tweeted out suggesting that they could use Welbeck as a bargaining chip to try and sign Wilfried Zaha in January and whilst it’s extremely unlikely, it’s a move that’s got to be worth a go.
Palace want Welbeck, Arsenal need a winger. Palace have Zaha, but require a good centre forward who can get 10-15 goals. Welbeck is just that guy. Roy Hodgson was a big Welbz fan when he coached England too. Swap deal needs to happen in January.

During his days as the England manager, Hodgson heavily relied on Danny Welbeck and used him 29 times throughout his time as the Three Lions boss, with Welbeck rewarding his manager with 14 goals in those games. Now, though, it’s a very different picture for both Welbeck and Hodgson. The experienced gaffer is at Crystal Palace and is desperate for a striker as they aim for survival whilst Welbeck is struggling for game time at The Emirates.
In truth, a move from Arsenal to Crystal Palace would make a lot of sense for Welbeck. Much like Danny Ings for Liverpool, the striker is just not getting the game time that a man of his quality needs and with injuries and infrequent minutes hampering his career, he needs to get out before he fades away. At Selhurst Park he’d be able to play games and score goals, although if Arsenal want Wilfried Zaha in return for their 27-year-old striker then this one will be over before it’s even begun.

Palace might want £50M as well!

Gazidis doesn't sanction deals for Palace so this won't happen.

Welbeck has 6months left, Zaha worth £60m easy. Won’t happen

No way that will happen? Roy loves him and would want more that welbz. Maybe welbz + 30 mill and thats if they wanna sell him – which they dont

No chance of this happening. They would want at least £50M for him.

They must ask for cash aswell , nobody is gonna give Zaha for Welbeck , no disrespect but come on

If Unai Emery decides to use Welbeck as a bargaining piece for Zaha it could work, but there’s no way Steve Parish will accept a straight swap of Welbeck for his star man.
