Arsenal: Fans react negatively after links with Ajax’s Hakim Ziyech

Arsenal fans have been displaying their negativity after the club were linked with a move for Ajax’s Hakim Ziyech.

According to Calciomercato, the Gunners are interested in the Morocco international, who Ajax are willing to sell for €50m (roughly £42.5m) in the current transfer window.

The news proves baffling given the smaller transfer fee he was available for in last summer’s transfer window.

Before signing a new contract at the club, the 27-year-old was available for just £25m, however, he went on to sign a new three-year deal with the side (via Bleacher Report).

David Ornstein (via The Arseblog) revealed in the summer, that the Gunners rejected the chance to sign the player.

Ziyech has been on fire this season, scoring and assisting 19 goals in the Eredivisie, more than any other Arsenal player has managed in the Premier League.

Fans didn’t seem to be too keen on the club making a move for the player as they took to Twitter to react with some unsure over his ability and the need for a centre-back, while others were uncertain over the validity of the reports.

Here is a selection of tweets from the north London faithful:

Arsenal fans, what do you make of the links with Ziyech? Let us know your thoughts!
