It had, up until now, been a rather quiet transfer window for Arsenal, but one potential piece of news has changed all of that.
Arsenal make £40m bid for Crystal Palace winger Wilfried Zaha. Zaha wants to move to Arsenal

Sky Sports News journalist Kaveh Solhekol confirmed via Twitter that the Gunners had made a bid of £40 million for Crystal Palace star Wilfried Zaha, who is linked with leaving this summer after BBC Sport reported that the Ivorian international was keen on a move away from the Eagles in favour of a move across the capital for Arsenal.
As you would expect, reaction to the news has been big on social media, particularly Twitter where Arsenal fans have been making their opinions known over the bid that has the fan base split.
Here are what a few supporters have said upon hearing the news…

It was revealed by the Daily Mail in May that Zaha was keen on a move away from Palace this summer in order to play Champions League football, a competition Arsenal aren’t in of course.
Still, the Ivory Coast international is said to have supported the Gunners as a boy and his brother recently told Sky Sports News that it was the forward’s dream to play for the North London giants. With a bid now reported to have been made, it will be interesting to see how high Arsenal can go, considering previous reports (per the Daily Mail) suggesting the club had just £45m to spend this summer.
