Yesterday was Granit Xhaka’s birthday and with the midfielder turning 26, Arsenal tweeted out a birthday message for the Swiss midfielder. However, the messages that came back from the Arsenal fans weren’t all nice and some Gunners were tearing into the midfielder.

Xhaka is currently enjoying his third season at The Emirates after he swapped Borussia Monchengladbach for Arsenal back in summer 2016. However, the fans haven’t been all that accommodating since he signed and when the midfielder hasn’t been up to the required level on the pitch the fans have been queueing up to take a pop at their Swiss international midfield man.
This season the fans have been expecting his levels to go up as he starts playing alongside Lucas Torreira but that hasn’t been the case as of yet. Xhaka scored his first goal of the season against Newcastle a couple of weeks ago with a sublime free-kick but even that seems to have been forgotten and The Gunners have been jumping on Xhaka’s back again. Unai Emery rested the 26-year-old for Wednesday’s Carabao Cup clash and he’ll be keen to show the supporters what he’s made of when he returns to action against Watford tomorrow.

The Gunners obviously don’t like or rate their midfielder an wouldn’t mind seeing him sold in the upcoming January window.
