Plenty of Arsenal fans have been giving their thoughts to an update regarding Martin Odegaard on social media.

According to Football London reporter Kaya Kaynak, Odegaard is keen to remain at the Emirates Stadium.

Kaynak claimed that the on-loan midfielder has told those close to him that he would like to stay with the Gunners after being left impressed with Mikel Arteta and his ongoing project. The 22-year-old won’t force a Real Madrid exit, though, so it is now down to Arsenal to initiate a potential permanent switch to England.

Odegaard, valued at £36m by Transfermarkt, will still have two years remaining on his Bernabeu deal in the summer.

The Norwegian has made 12 appearances for the Gunners so far after joining on loan in the winter, scoring twice.

Arsenal fans react

Kaynak shared the update regarding Odegaard on Saturday evening, which unsurprisingly received plenty of reaction.

Here is what these Arsenal supporters had to say in reply to the post, with one describing it as ‘massive news’ and another urging club owner Stan Kroenke to fund a permanent move for the 22-year-old.

"Think this is pretty obvious, he’s a perfect match with the club and already seems popular in the dressing room. It’s all on Arsenal to make Madrid an offer they can’t refuse."
