“Quality” Arsenal forward ‘in talks’ to join Serie A giants

Arsenal’s attacking department is now packed with options, giving Mikel Arteta a selection headache heading into the new season.

Viktor Gyökeres, Kai Havertz and Gabriel Jesus provide depth through the middle, while the Gunners can call upon Christos Tzolis, Gabriel Martinelli, Bukayo Saka, Noni Madueke and Max Dowman out wide.

Eberechi Eze and Ethan Nwaneri can also operate from the flanks.

With competition so fierce, one established forward could now be heading for the exit.

Jesus ‘In Talks’ to Join Napoli

Napoli are in talks over a potential move for Arsenal striker Gabriel Jesus, according to TuttoMercatoweb, with the Serie A champions viewing the Brazilian as a major attacking target.

The 29-year-old has been described as a “quality” player by Mikel Arteta and could now be tempted by the prospect of a fresh challenge in Italy, particularly with Arsenal’s attacking options growing considerably.

Napoli have been working to create room for Jesus, with Romelu Lukaku recently completing a reported €6m (£5.1m) move to Fenerbahce. Further departures could be needed before the club can fully commit to the Brazilian’s arrival.

Jesus’ representative, Giovanni Branchini, was also recently spotted at Napoli’s pre-season camp, although he insisted his visit was simply to see manager Massimiliano Allegri.

The striker therefore remains one to watch as Napoli continue exploring whether they can bring him to Serie A this summer.
