The Arsenal fans in the Transfer Tavern have been discussing the strength and depth in their squad as they face up to their long trip north to take on struggling Sunderland.
After splashing the cash in the transfer window rather late on, Arsene Wenger has seemingly crafted a team capable of at least challenging for an elusive Premier League title, even without Jack Wilshere.
One touted as the next Golden Boy for both club and country, the 24-year-old has been farmed out on loan to Bournemouth in order to prove his fitness over the course of a season.
Such are the nature of Wenger’s option in the engine room, it’s no forgone conclusion that the England international will even get back into their side.
Now, speaking to the Daily Mail, he’s revealed he has no idea where his future lies beyond this year and doesn’t know if he’ll end up with the Gunners long-term.
Out of contract in two summers, Wilshere is sure entering a pivotal moment in his career.
‘I haven’t really thought about my future beyond getting a season under my belt and just trying to improve as a player,’ he explained.
‘To be honest your question is a hard question to answer because I don’t know what to say. I genuinely don’t know if I am going to end up at Arsenal or somewhere else.”
