The Gooners have just joined us in the Transfer Tavern and are talking up their chances of winning the league this season.

But we have doubts as to whether Arsene Wenger’s side can really take the Premier League crown off of Chelsea.

Arsenal have added club record signing Alexandre Lacazette to their ranks.

The man who was been perennially linked with the Gunners finally wore the Arsenal shirt in the Emirates Cup last weekend.

Meanwhile, Wenger has also addressed his defensive frailties with the signing of Sead Kolasinac.

It’s early days, but the Bosnian looked particularly impressive in Arsenal’s 5-2 victory over Benfica.

Unfortunately, a number of players who regularly make the cut for Arsene Wenger are simply not good enough.

The Frenchman needs to adopt a ruthless streak if he’s to win the Premier League again.

And we’ve picked out FOUR players he needs to bin to do it….

MOHAMED ELNENY

The Egyptian is neat and tidy, but doesn’t offer much more than that.

Wenger has been creative in defence and Elneny has been utilised at centre-back this summer.

However, the man who arrived in January 2016 simply doesn’t make the cut in the Arsenal backline or the Gunners midfield.

KIERAN GIBBS

It’s been 10 years since the Englishman emerged into the first team. 10 years later and Arsenal fans are now fed up waiting for Gibbs to nail down a starting place.

Unfortunately, his injuries woes have become the bane of his career. With less than a year to run on his current deal, Arsenal should cash in while they can.

THEO WALCOTT

Like Gibbs, Theo Walcott has truly fulfilled after promising so much.

The Englishman holds great sentimental value with the Arsenal fans, but has only once produced more than 15 league goals since signing in 2006.

The winger could soon be replaced by either Thomas Lemar or Riyad Mahrez.

JACK WILSHERE

We’re sensing a pattern here… Another English talent who promised so much.

Wilshere’s career has been marred by injury and built to fall by the hype created from his teenage years. The 25 year-old enjoyed a successful spell on-loan at Bournemouth, which perhaps proved he has been poorly managed at Arsenal.

For the good of the player, the Gunners should part ways.
