Axe Sanogo: These 2 Arsenal players should definitely follow

There was jubilation in the air for those of an Arsenal persuasion who were present here in the Transfer Tavern on Saturday afternoon, following the Gunners’ last-gasp equaliser at Old Trafford.

Olivier Giroud pounced quickest at the far post to hand Arsenal a valuable point and preserved a long-standing unbeaten run for Arsene Wenger’s men.

With the Gunners looking like strong title contenders this season, the club’s ardent supporters here in the Tavern are hopeful that they can strengthen the squad in January, to give them the edge on their rivals for the second half of the campaign.

That could mean some players leaving the club, with striker Yaya Sanogo one of the names mentioned by the Arsenal contingent here in the Tavern, as someone who could depart the Emirates Stadium.

Tavern writer Lee Clarke takes a look at two players who could well join Sanogo in leaving the club during January.

Chuba Akpom

The young Arsenal striker is yet to feature for the Gunners this season, with a loan move away from the Emirates looking increasingly likely in January.

A group of Gunners supporters have gathered for the pub quiz here in the Tavern and they think that the 21-year-old would be worthy of a shot in the side, although they do agree that a temporary switch away from the club would do him good.

Mathieu Debuchy

The former Newcastle United right-back is yet to make a Gunners squad so far this season and his days wearing the red of Arsenal look numbered.

The Frenchman is 31-years-old and simply needs to depart in order to play football more frequently, with his career slowly on the decline whilst he is kicking his heels at the Gunners.

One Arsenal fan is sat chatting to the landlord here in the Tavern and he thinks Debuchy would be wise to leave, stating that he has never really been good enough to hold down a regular starting berth.

Arsenal fans, would you welcome the departure of these two? Who else should be cast aside by Arsene Wenger? Let us know in the comments below!!!
