The Chelsea fans in the Transfer Tavern are concerned after star striker Alvaro Morata’s comments about the struggles of living in London.
Speaking to La Gazzetta Dello Sport, the former Real Madrid forward expressed the difficulties he’s had residing in England’s capital city. Whilst he finds the multi-cultural aspects of London ‘fascinating’, the size of the place causes him ‘too much stress’. Therefore he can’t envisage himself living there in the long-term future, although bizarrely insisted later on that he would sign a ten-year contract with the west London Club.
The news will come as a major shock to the Stamford Bridge faithful as the Spaniard has impressed in the first few months of his Chelsea career. He has bagged six Premier League goals already and is an integral part of Antonio Conte’s starting lineup and that made the injury he sustained in the defeat to Man City last month concerning.
He recovered from that and despite being less effective in recent matches, his importance to the team can’t be underestimated.
Chelsea have already had to deal with an unsettled player as the Diego Costa saga perpetually dragged on before he finally secured a switch back to Atletico Madrid in September. And they will hope Morata won’t be similarly disruptive in pursuit of a move away.
With that in mind, here’s how the Blues fans reacted to the news online…
FFS leave Morata alone. He's lived in Turin & Madrid & we're surprised London isn't his favourite city?

People shocked that Morata doesn't like London. He has previously been living and Turin and Madrid, absolute no brainer.

I'm not sure if #Chelsea fans care what Alvaro Morata thinks about London, they just want him to score goals!#Itsafootballthing #CFC

Morata: I hate London
Agent: Well done. Now you have to lie if you want your transfer market price to go up.
Morata: I am committed.— Ryan. (@RazzaTemplerun) October 31, 2017

Or Morata gives a story saying not settled in London it’s too busy so moves to the Surrey countryside near Cobham – end of story

#Morata clearly hates living in London and he made those comments. He is backpedaling now by saying he can sign 10 year deal
