Balotelli Wins Some Award & Gives The World 4 Idiotic Quotes

Tuttosport has awarded it’s prestigious Golden Boy award to Mario Balotelli, but the former Inter Milan bad-boy couldn’t help but say something a bit stupid.

The award is voted for by journalists across Europe to identify the most talented up and coming football under 21 years of age.

Balotelli picked up top spot with Man Utd’s goalkeeping target David de Gea finishing in third, however the former Inter Milan starlet had apparently never heard of the player that finished second, Arsenal’s Jack Wilshere.

In a brilliant set of quotes, Balotelli rubbed salt into the wound by suggesting he flaunt his trophy:

‘What’s his name? Wil…? No, I just don’t know him, but the next time I play against Arsenal I’ll try to be careful,’ said the Italy international.

‘Maybe I could show him the Golden Boy trophy and remind him that I won.’

He couldn’t leave it there though could he? What would Mario Balotelli be without the over-inflated ego that has got him into so many training ground rows over the years? When asked about his ability compared to the previous winners of the award, including Man Utd’s Wayne Rooney or Arsenal’s Cesc Fabregas he said:

‘There’s only one that is a little stronger than me: Messi, all the others behind me.’

Can he be serious? A player that has spent the majority of the season slumping around the football pitch and nearly getting sent off believes that only Barcelona’s Lionel Messi is superior in ability, it’s pretty flabbergasting.

Balotelli couldn’t help but once again fuel the Man City transfer train either. He once again expressed his desire to play at AC Milan and suggested it may be in the next few years as he wants to partner Swede striker, Zlatan Ibrahimovic.

‘I tell Ibra to continue calling me to Milan, and one day we will fulfil the wish and I can play in the Rossoneri shirt.’

Ibra and Balotelli would be well matched, both of them seem to have an ego the size of a Zeppelin airship. If I was a City fan I’d probably be looking forward to getting him out the door and off the wage bill, hopefully he might score a few goals and add to his value on the way. Expect the Italian youngster to start throwing his toys out of the pram by the summer.
