Frenkie de Jong has began life in Spain promisingly following his £67.5m move from Ajax in the summer.
On Saturday, the young Dutchman scored his first goal and registered his first assist for the Catalans during a 5-2 demolition job on Valencia at the Camp Nou.
The 21-year-old’s performances for Ajax last term earned him plaudits from around the globe, and this season he just continues to impress.
According to WhoScored, the Netherlands international has averaged 1.8 tackles, 1.3 key passes, 1.5 dribbles and, most astonishingly of all, a pass completion rate of 95.3% – more than any other starter in La Liga so far this season.
De Jong’s talent seemingly has no end, and should he continue to achieve those extremely impressive statistics, it will surely only be a matter of time before the 21-year-old is nominated for the coveted Ballon d’Or award.
