According to reports on Twitter, Tottenham forward Lucas Moura was offered to Barcelona last night.
The Brazilian, who joined Spurs from Paris Saint-Germain last summer, has seen regular game-time in north London restricted since arriving at the club.
The 27-year-old has started two of Tottenham’s four Premier League fixtures so far – his latest being in the disappointing 1-0 defeat to Newcastle ten days ago – and was an unused substitute during Sunday’s north London derby against Arsenal.
With Christian Eriksen remaining put at Spurs until next summer at least, and Heung-min Son seemingly ahead of Lucas in the pecking order under Mauricio Pochettino, the former PSG man looks destined to spend large parts of this season on the bench.
Because of this, the winger was reportedly vying for an eleventh-hour loan move away from the club prior to Monday’s transfer deadline. It is understood, per El Chiringuito TV via Fox News that Lucas was offered to Barcelona, but the La Liga champions were not interested in his services.
Here’s how some of the Barca fans reacted to that news on Twitter, and it’s fair to say a few were very confused…
Makes no sense.

Why would they give us Lucas Moura? Do they want another player or money? He got them to a CL semis. I don’t get why Moura is so underappreciated.

Headless-chicken player. We don’t need him.
