Barcelona: Fans slate Rakitic following Twitter post

Barcelona midfielder Ivan Rakitic has found minutes hard to come by this term.

The Croatian has suffered since Frenkie de Jong arrived from Ajax in the summer, with the Netherlands international preferred alongside Sergio Busquets and Arthur in central midfield.

Rakitic has mainly been used as a substitute for the Blaugrana in all competitions this season, as shown on Transfermarkt, and now looks as though he could depart the Catalan club in 2020, with reported interest from Manchester United and clubs in Italy coming to light in recent weeks.
The 31-year-old may not be in manager Ernesto Valverde’s plans, but judging by his latest post on Twitter, he seems to be fully focussed on playing for Barcelona.
Rakitic posted photo’s of himself in training alongside the caption “Ready”, which opened up the 2018 World Cup finalist to an onslaught of negative messages from some Barca fans, who clearly want the midfielder to leave their club next year.
