There is major relief here in the Football Transfer Tavern as it is claimed by Sky Sports that Barcelona have seen a mega bid for Neymar rejected.
The Catalan club have long been linked to the forward and whilst previously it seemed that they were first in line to land the player now it seems that Neymar may well be set to give hope to Manchester City and Chelsea who are also linked with a move for the Santos player who has all but confirmed he will be leaving Brazil after the World Cup in 2014.
Real Madrid are also thought to be keen on the player whose future is in his own hands. Santos’ Odilio Rodrigues claimed that: “There is no agreement for Neymar, there are talks, I met [Barcelona’s president Sandro] Rosell and [Barcelona’s sporting director] Raul Sanllehi last week,” he told Radio A Xarxa.
“We had a very frank conversation. Talks need to continue because the offer was not good enough.”
He continued to state that: “Neymar will choose the team he wants, it’s Neymar’s opinion that is important.”
