Crystal Palace have a knack for bouncing back from the loss of key players.
In 2024, they saw Michael Olise depart for Bayern Munich, yet went on to lift both the FA Cup and the Community Shield.
This summer, Eberechi Eze left for Arsenal, but under Oliver Glasner, the Eagles have continued to impress, currently sitting sixth in the Premier League and performing strongly in the Europa Conference League with their high-intensity, attacking style.
Despite this resilience, another challenge could be on the horizon.
Bayern Interested in Guehi

According to Sky Germany, Bayern Munich are among a host of clubs monitoring Marc Guehi, Crystal Palace’s captain, whose current contract expires next summer. The Premier League side reportedly want to extend the England international’s deal, but interest is mounting from both domestic and European heavyweights.
Sky Sport reports that Bayern sporting director Max Eberl is a long-time admirer of Guehi and would welcome the chance to bring the defender to Munich on a free transfer next year.
Other clubs in the running include Liverpool, who failed in a deadline-day attempt to sign him last summer, and FC Barcelona, though Guehi is said to dream of a move to Real Madrid.
Since joining Palace in 2021, Guehi has quickly established himself as one of the Premier League’s most reliable defenders. He is also a regular for England, with former Bayern boss Thomas Tuchel recently praising him as “very impressive.”
Losing Guehi would be another blow for Palace, but the Eagles have proven time and again that they can recover from departures and continue to thrive.
