Chelsea’s 2025/26 campaign has exploded into life.
After grinding out a gritty 0-0 against Crystal Palace on the opening weekend, the Blues turned on the style in spectacular fashion against West Ham, smashing the Hammers 5-1. João Pedro was the headline act — poaching his first Premier League goal, adding to his FIFA Club World Cup hat-trick haul, and then sliding in a slick assist for Pedro Neto. Chelsea looked fluid, ruthless, and every bit a side ready to challenge.
But while the goals flowed, one player was left watching his Stamford Bridge dream slip further away.
Nicolas Jackson, the man who led the line for the last two seasons, scoring 24 goals in 65 Premier League games, has been quietly told his time is up. After lodging a transfer request earlier this month, the Senegalese striker is now closing in on a dramatic move abroad.
Bayern In Talks with Chelsea for Jackson
According to a report from BILD earlier this week, Bayern Munich have reached an agreement to take Jackson on a season-long loan.
The 24-year-old has already shaken hands on personal terms, with his representatives in London finalising the finer details.
Transfer guru Fabrizio Romano, however, has since added fuel to the fire, revealing Bayern are now in “direct talks” with Chelsea to complete the deal.
The sticking point? Chelsea only have one international loan slot left — and they’re pushing hard for the move to include a mandatory purchase clause. That means that if Bayern do not agree, Jackson could end up spending the season warming the bench at Stamford Bridge, unless another interested party comes in.
If the six-time Champions League winners do agree to the structure of the deal, however, for Chelsea fans, saying goodbye to Jackson will feel like breaking up with a toxic ex-partner.
You wanted it to work. You believed it could work. And when it did work, the sparks were unforgettable. But deep down, everyone knew this relationship was heading for the exit door.
